Arben Dervishi
Comedy actor.
Born in Korce, on April 11, 1963. Finished his higher studies at the Academy of Arts for an actor in 1988 and soon after was appointed to the Professional Estrada of Korce.
Dervishi soon became one of the actors who carried a lot of weight. He has performed over 100 roles in skits and short dramaturgical forms for the variety theater, such as in the shows “Why don’t we laugh”; “Ear to ear”; “How to name it”; “City of dreams”; “Sorry for the delay”; “Where were we?”.
He is an energetic actor who operates with the elements of burlesque, without desecrating the truth and the organicity of the comic scene; has the ability to create unique characters; ordinary people, drunkards, cheaters, braggarts, etc.
In the humor piece “The Boss and the Professor” he created the type of the funny and cheeky merchant, who, although uneducated, had gotten rich through dishonest means.
Dervishi also performed prominent characters in such humorous materials as: “Court of Cassation”, “Albanian’s tail”, “Maternity”; “Policeman”; “Sokaket e te marreve” etc.
In the comedy “Jovan Bregu Refugjat” (1997) by A. Balashi, he played the role of Jovan, now in a different situation, except that he is always a braggart, a parasite and a rascal, which the actor gave a sharp humorous form by playing with the frequent contradictions between the real state of the character and the pretended one, the sudden change from situation to situation to avoid unmasking, as well as the manipulation of facts, etc.
In the comedy “Zonjusha 39 vjece” by Saqellaresi, he performed with comic grace the role of Nik, the prospective bridegroom from the Continent, cleverly using surprises and humorous lines.
Dervishi also performed in several tele comedies such as “Fundi i marrezise – fjalekryqi”.
At the beginning of 2000, he emigrated to the USA, but continues to be active in Albania with various projects from time to time.
