Monika Lubonja
Albanian theater and cinema actress.
Her artistic career is exactly like the path of a meteor, due to her interpretive skills, she did not have the luck to perform in many roles.
She is an actress who belongs to that generation from which she was expected to take the baton and carry her work and contribution even higher of the art generation of the Albanian scene, before 90’s. Born on April 13, 1968, in Tirana. In 1992, she finished her studies at the Academy of Arts for actresses. Two years later, she was appointed an actress at the National Theater.
Lubonja has successfully performed several roles in the theater. Her career in the theater starts with the drama “Death of Danton” in the role of a prostitute.
Later, she played the role of a bride in “Quo Vadis”. For Monika, we can also mention other roles as a girl in “The Inspector”; the maid in the comedy “Flea in the ear”, “The magic of red wine” and several other roles in theater performances during the 2000s.
Monika Lubonja begins her cinematography in the short film “Behind the facade” (1992), a year later she plays in the television comedy “Hornless ram” (1993);
In 1995, she will play in two feature films: “Rapists” and “Plastic Bullet”; After three years, Monika returns to movies again.
In 1998 performed in “Sako’s Wedding” and in 2001 in “Tirana Year Zero”. Then Lubonja also plays in two serial films, “The sound of silence” (2010) and “We are looking for someone” (2011). In 2021, she was active in another series called HOT!
