Sokol Angjeli
Actor, director!
Born in Tirana on June 30, 1955. Graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts for actor in Tirana in 1976. Immediately after graduation, started working at the Popular Theater (today N. TH).
In 1986, he did a postgraduate specialization in directing at ILA (Higher Institute of Arts). His talent appeared even before starting his higher studies, in the studio of the Popular Theater, with the role of the vagabond, Eliodor Paku, in the comedy “The man who saw death with eyes” by V. Eftimiu.
Angjeli mostly belongs to the genre of humor, satire and comedy, as it was seen in the play “The Impostor” (1996). He has performed several dramatic roles, such as the role of Asllani in “White Ravens” (2007).
We can single out other theatrical performances: “Diell mbi ngaster” (1977) by Fadil Kraje in the role of Gon; “On the second floor is heaven” (1994) as Bato; “Buburreci” (2006) by I. Bezhani in the role of Deni; “Man, virtue, animal” (2000) by Pirandello in the role of teacher; “Rainfalls” (2002) as a priest; “Carnavals of Korce” (2003) of S. Comore in the role of Loni; “Franku V” (2008) with F. Durrenmatt as the businessman; “Whistling in the Dark” (2008) by T. Murphy, in the role of Mushi.
Sokol Angjeli has staged several plays as a director, standing out with the drama “Besel am why they sacrifice me” by R. Qose with the subtitle “Bridge of Sacrifice” ” at the National Theater of Gjilan, Kosovo, 2003 (winner of the First Prize of “Flaka e Janarit”) and “The Man Who Saw Death with His Eyes” at the Kërcove Theater in Macedonia (2004).
He also performed in several Albanian films of Kinostudio, such as: “There is life in the snow-covered forests” (1978), “After the tracks” (1978), “Comradess from the village” (1980); “When a movie was shot” (1981) “The tracks” (1987); “Last Sunday” (1993); “Funeral Business” (1999); “An extra father” (2000) (TV); “My wife’s weight” (2002) etc.
Sokol Angjeli has also realized several projects and collaborations with TV, performing the role of director, reciter, actor and lecturer.
