Luiza Mataraku (Osmanlliu)
Engineer, sound operator at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e re” .
Born in Tirana on August 28, 1948. After finishing High School, she was appointed to the sound department at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re” as a student in 1968. From 1971-1972, Mataraku worked as a writing/recording and sound reproduction technician. At the same time, she completed her higher studies by correspondence, graduating as an engineer in electronics.
In 1979, Mataraku was appointed as a sound operator, initially dealing with the sound recording of newsreels and later of documentaries and cartoons.
Among the documentary films, in addition to political themes, “The Star of 13 / Ylli i te trembëdhjetave” can be mentioned; “City of students / Qyteti i studenteve”; “Great Uprising / Kryengritjet e medha”; “Tourist Albania / Shqiperia turistike”; “Our children, a beautiful song / Femijet tane, nje kenge e bukur”; “And where will we play? / Po ne ku do te lozim?”; “Informatics / Informatika”; “Noli our / Noli yne”; “Mountain Dances / Vallet e bjeshkeve”; “Folk clothes / Veshjet popullore”; “Through the northern lakes / Neper liqenet e veriut”; “Toward Europe / Drejt Europes” – 1993; “Blue Mosque / Xhamia blu” – 1994; “Prisoners of the gallery / te burgosurit e galerise” – 1994; “The first Albanian Cardinal / Kardinali i pare shqiptar” – 1995; “Super Balkan” – 1998; “Dora d`Istria” etc.
As for cartoons, we can mention: “Scarecrow / Dordoleci”; “Drawing for a bird / Vizatim per nje zog”; “Symphony of the forest / Si mfonia e pyllit”; “For a kernel of walnut / Per nje kokerr arre”; “Piku with fox skin / Piku me lekure dhelpre”; “Si beri gjeti”.
In her career as a sound operator, there are also recordings for several military films made by the cinematographic sector of the Ministry of People’s Defense. Luiza Mataraku also worked in the “Millenium” cinema
