She was chosen, by audition, from among all the kid actors, to play the role of New Year in front of Albanian leader Enver Hoxha.
Sesila herself would say: “Of course, I was as happy as ever. Am I sorry? Why? At that time, I loved Enver Hoxha with all my soul, like all innocent children – whose parents, like in Brecht’s “The Spy”, protected you. And the man who loved should never regret. Even if love has gone to the wrong place! Nor would God condemn a child who sincerely gave all his love to where he was told the light was. Why should I punish the child I was? I am glad that I have not lost the ability to love during life’s disappointments. I may have lost it temporarily, but to find it again even stronger. Who knows how to love, knows how to find the true light, even when it seems to have been lost. In the source that can no longer disappoint you… And love is the salvation of man!
