Gjeraqina Osmalliu (Spahiu)
She is a mathematics teacher at the “Skenderbej” School in Tirana. She only played one role in Albanian cinema at the age of 14.
Born on February 23, 1946, in Tirana. Gjeraqina did not attend any acting school but successfully completed her studies in the field of pedagogy where she devoted herself more to the subject of mathematics, which she enjoyed and was passionate about.
After graduating, began teaching at the “Skenderbej” Military School in Tirana in the late 60s and 70s until her retirement.
She had her first contact with cinema when she was 14 years old, in 1961 and perhaps by chance, when she was selected by the well-known Albanian cinema director Hysen Hakani to play the role of Merushe in the film “Debatik” alongside other young actors of that time who had just started to become active such as Dhimitër Peçani, Roland Trebicka, Shpëtim Zani, Pëllumb Dervishi and alongside big names, the pioneering generation of stage and screen such as Sandër Prosi, Sulejman Pitarka, Loro Kovaçi, Liza Vorfi, Drita Kallamata, Violeta Manushi, Lazër Vlashi, Besim Levonja, Gjon Karma, Mario Ashiku etc.
Since then, her paths with performing arts never crossed again.
