Born on October 16, 1948 in the city of Tirana. In 1972, he finished his higher studies at the High Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts) as an actor. In this same year, he started working at the Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”, where he worked as an assistant director with the well-known director Xhanfise Keko (People’s Artist) and with the director Dhimitër Anagnosti (People’s Artist).

In 1974, his first work as an actor/director will be in the film “The Youngest City in the World”. And then as a director, he will also work in films known as “Sounds of War”; “Behind the tracks”; “Coping”; “The man with the Cannon”: “In our house”; “At the beginning of summer”; “Gjurme ne kaltersi”; “Colonel Bunker”; and the film “L`America” with the Italian cinematographer Gianni Amelio.

In 1977, he will be the director of the documentary film “Nightingale of Labëria”, dedicated to the People’s Hero, Memo Meto. The film “Mondi and Diana” (1985) will be his first film as a director. Other films as a solo director are: “Whiteness” (1986); “Waxed` shirts” (1987); “Three people cross the mountain” (1988); “Elastic boy” (1989). While as a co-director with D. Thana, she will be in the film “On vacation days” (1980); “Blerte’s Engagement” (1984) with I. Zhabjaku;
