Dario Llukaçi (or in Italian Dario Llukacci)
Italo-Albanian Actor. Estrada Theater of Tirana Actor. Was also activated in some Albanian films.

Born on August 1, 1925, in Rijeka, Italy (now Rijeka, Croatia). Dario’s father was originally from Podgorica, while his mother was from Fiume.

In 1930, the Llukaci family came to Albania, later expressing their desire to live and work in our country.

He finished the 7-year school, where Lukaci was noticed for the talent he showed in drawing. Even at the age of 13, he joined the musical band of the former king Zog as the first trumpet…the first contact with art.

Dario, together with his brothers, later worked as a mechanic.
They had an office where they fixed most of the vehicles circulating in Albania. Dario also worked as a welder on the first Durres – Tirana railway.

In the early 50s, he moved to Tirana near the “Mihal Duri” Establishment as a mechanic, welder and shop manager.

It will be precisely during this time that his inclination for the theater will be. This is how he became part of the theater group of the House of Culture, in Tirana. This will be precisely the stage where he will mark his first steps in performing arts.

In the House of Culture, Dario even has leading roles, stands out for his talent. One of these theatrical pieces is “Era e lire”, a play that attracted the attention of the Minister of Culture at that time, Ms. Liri Belishova, who proposed to move him to the professional theater. 

Dario chose variety show for his humorous nature. He works for a long period in the Estrada of Tirana, even being one of the members of the initiator generation. Lukaci worked in this institution until he was retired. 

Lukaci stayed in Albania until the beginning of the 90s, to return to his country of birth in Italy, where he passed away on August 1, 2007, at the age of 82, exactly on the day he was born.

However, being a part of Albanian acting during the entire period of his stay in Albania, the Albanian scene remembers him with honor and respect for his contribution to the performing arts.

Dario Llukaci has also performed in a considerable number of feature films, leaving in the spectator’s memory some entertaining jokes, among the most famous is that of the taxi driver in “Kapedani” – “Cherchez la femme”!
