Agim Krajka (1937-2021) Well-known Albanian composer who came out of the evenings of dancing. He was born in Harizaj, Kavaje, on May 3, 1937. He comes from a Dibra family (Great Dibra) with many members. At a young age, he moved to Tirana. Contact with music comes to him by chance. Agimi's neighbor was an Albanian engineer with a German wife and a man of Austrian culture, having finished school there. At dawn, he hears the sweet sounds of music coming from there, always on occasions of holidays, birthdays, etc., and secretly mounted on the surrounding wall, he looks at the gramophone that was playing. On the other hand, in Agimi's house there was an accordion that his father played, but he was not allowed to drive it. Later, Agimi there from the end of the 40s, maybe 47-48, "discovers" that it was a "Pioneer" house in which there were some musical instruments and two small accordions. It will have been around the age of 12-13 when he "embraced" the accordion for the first time. Always according to the composer, the idea of a wind pipe musician was a utopia, also related to the custom of dibranes. One day he also discovers that he has a great love for that instrument. The concept of art and music were not in favor of Agimi, who enrolled him in the pedagogic school, which he did not finish, and with the instrument he now owns, he tries to get some financial income in various entertaining cultural evenings. From various contacts with others who owned the accordion, he also learns different genres and types of music, such as tango, waltz, Napoleon's dance, rumba, etc. He himself was still not aware if he had talent or not, despite the fact that he practiced the instrument without knowing the notes. From 1952 to 1953, a border station was built there, in which Krajka was employed with a salary as a sub-officer, 3500 lek per month plus 15 kg of flour. The artistic activity of this variety show was to go to all border points to entertain the soldiers with its program. Here he gained many early principles and he held the role there with his game and talent. He watches, follows and learns from those who graduated from piano school. In 1956, he was sent to perform military service in Korce at a border point. Agim Krajka creates a musical orchestra and to which he dedicates most of his time. It continues the exercise of artistic activity as before, in every border point of the Korce district. Here, Agim Krajka learns and acquires musical notes in the best way during the 40-month period of the army, with 8-9 hours of study per day. After completing his military service, he passes with the army ensemble. In v. 1961 is spent with the Radio-Television Orchestra. Take part in the 1st Song Festival. Then he composes "The Boy and the Rain". It is also criticized that here it starts to be more careful. He does not participate in the Fest. 3rd. In the 6th Festival, he composed the song "Ylli partizan", which he still considers professional for his time as a composer. So it was a progressive company that had knowledge and that tried to keep up with the current music of the world, always having Rai of Italy as its main source. This would continue until the Fest. 11th, where after things come from the organizations above by order, so many songs for the Party, so many for the people, so many for the village, etc., etc. In 1963, Agimi began studying theory and composition. He completed the Composition branch under the guidance of the great Cesk Zadeja. In 1964 he passed by the Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances; first as an instrumentalist, then as a composer and orchestra leader.
