Donika Muçi
Music composer, editing director, director of documentary and chronicle films at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re”!

Born in Delvina from a “gjirokastrit” citizen family on August 13, 1938. With the beginning of the Second World War, her family moved to Tirana, where she graduated from the “Jordan Misja” Artistic High School in the music department (1958) for solfeggio theory.

After a year, Muci cooperates with Radio Tirana. In 1959, she was assigned to Lushnje, but she did not respond to the call of the Party. She couldn’t wait to finish school and get a job to help his family since they were poor.

Muci starts working in Radio, assisted by Mrs. Vera Zheji in the music sector. She looks forward to this invitation with great joy, even though at first she was paid with royalties, but by working well and hard and replacing several friends, the salary became satisfactory.

From here Muci was transferred to Kinostudio, precisely on February 12, 1960. Donika worked for a long time as a music composer in newsreels and documentary films, as well as an editor and editing director in four feature films: “When the day dawned” – 1971 / “Illegals” – 1976 / “The Colapse of the Idols” – 1977 / “Spring in Gjirokaster” – 1978

After that, she worked as a documentary film director, shooting about 40 documentary films during the period 1970 – 1986.

Among her most famous films are: “Viktor Eftimiu in Albania” – 1970; “Festival Herald” – 1972; “Decorative flowers” – 1975; “Thermal waters” – 1976; “Marinela Ensemble in Albania” – 1977; “Mosaics” – 1980; “Our Porcelain” – 1980; “Gezofrat tone” – 1980; “Popular housing” – 1981; “Vallet e bjeshkeve”; “Touristic places in Albania” – 1981; “Torch of light in Kosovo” – 1993; “Toward Inspirations” – 1984; “Brigjeve te Prespes” – 1985;

“Shtjefen Gjecovi” – 1985; For this film, she was awarded the Medallion of the 6th Documentary Film Festival for directing.

“Arber Musician” – 1987, which was awarded the 2nd Prize at the 8th Albanian Documentary Film Festival; “Castle City” – 1989; “Dora D`Istria” – 1998; etc. Other films we can mention :
“Me ritmin e jetes” – 1970; “At the 11th Song Festival” – 1973; “Our Circus” – 1984; “May Concerts” – 1975;

Meanwhile, in 1976, we can remember the films “Technical Norms”; “Earth System”; “June and wheat”.

Two years later, in 1979, she realized “Vegetables as a source of health”; “Report from Kemishtaj”; “Song and dance at the big party”; “Tour of Greek artists in Albania”;

In 1980, Muci continued with three other documentaries “Dropulli i rilindur”; “Eli Cetali Dance Ensemble and Mariza Koh Ensemble in Albania”; “Our children, a beautiful song” – 1981; “Bije te rrugicave te kalldremta” – 1982; “Good friend Gogo” – 1983; “Helmes `84” – 1984; “Unforgettable Days” – 1985; “Enver’s Red Tirana” – 1985.

Donika Muci Holds the titles: 
Third Class Naim Frashëri Order, 1984.
Certificate of appreciation for the film “Shtjefën Gjeçovi”, 1986. “Merited Artist” in 1987.

In 1968, she received the title of First-Class Music Composer.

In 1970, she received the title of editing director.
While in 1972 Muci received the title of film director.

She has directed over 200 documentary films.
