Bujar Gjashta (1955-2019)
Make up artist of Kinostudio “Shqiperia e re”
Born in Tirana on July 11, 1955. Bujar is graduated from the artistic high school “Jordan Misja” in Tirana for sculptures in 1974. Worked for two years in the Artistic Enterprise “Migjeni” and, after completing his military service, started working as a make-up artist in Kinostudio.
His first film as a makeup artist was “The Bride and Curfew” (1978). Bujar performed the make-up of actors in over 20 films, including: “Freedom or death” (two series) – 1979 / “After death” – 1980 / “Brothers and Comrades” – 1980 / “Like everyone else” – 1981 / “The Threat” – 1981 / “The road to freedom” – 1982 / “The end of a blood feud” – 1983 / “Who dies on foot” – 1984 / “The postponed wedding” – 1985 / “Shadows that remain behind” – 1985 / ” Hot autumn `41″ – 1986 / “Strange wedding” – 1986 / “Stone of Covenant” – 1986 / “When the doors of life open” – 1986 / “Come” – 1988 / “Temporary brilliance” – 1988 / ” The investigation continues” – 1988 / “The historian and the chameleon” – 1989 / “After the last meeting” -1990 / “Life in the hands of the other” – 1990.
After the 90s, he began working at the Opera and Ballet Theater as a make-up artist , where, in addition to others, he participated in the make-up of “Miss Albania”, “Miss Europe” and in several other television shows, as well as in the films “Tirana Year Zero” – 2000 / “Mysteries of Butrint” – 2001.
In parallel, Bujar worked also as an external lecturer in the subject of make-up at the Academy of Fine Arts.
In August 2019, his body was found lifeless in the Dunavat alley in Gjirokaster!
