Vera Xhemali
Actress of Estrada and “Aleksandër Moisiu” theater in Durrës
Vera Xhemali was born in Durrës. She belonged to a generation of actors who are unfortunately forgotten today in terms of their contribution and merits in the theater.
Vera began her career as an actress in the Estrada of Durrës. She was an integral part of the staff of this troupe, performing alongside the most famous names in Durrës humor.
Once upon a time, the “Rinia” Palace of Culture had an artistic troupe that could compete with professionals even on an international scale, where the actors Vera Xhemali, Adem Gjepali, Gani Kalaja, Muharrem Hoxha were its members, and the moderator and interpreters of literary materials were Flamur Jakupi and Merita Llazo.
In addition to her extensive activity with the Durres Estrada, Vera Xhemali was lucky enough to play another role, albeit an episodic one, in the film “Substitute of women / Zevendësi i grave” (1987) where she played the role of Shaban the storekeeper’s wife alongside her two colleagues, Fadil Hasa and Mirush Kabashi.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Vera Xhemali is no longer alive.
