Successful Albanian cinema and theater actor.
Formulator of several song texts as well as interpreter of poetry.

Timoleo Flloko or Timo as he is known by the Albanian public was born on April 26, 1948, in the city of Peja. After finishing high school in the city of Vlora, he started his higher studies in the Dramaturgy branch at the High Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts).

Flloko is graduated in 1970 and started working as a lecturer at this Institute. Timo Flloko performed over 30 roles in the theater. His most recent role, that of Edi Carbone in the drama “View from the Bridge” by the great American playwright Arthur Miller, staged under the direction of Albert Minga (People’s Artist) would be awarded the “Best Actor” Award, at the Seventh National Acting Festival, which took place in the city of Fier from May 12 to 17, 2008. For this role, he was also awarded the “Best Actor of the Year” Award from the Kult Academy on June 6, 2008.

Timo Flloko has performed 35 roles in cinematography. His first steps in cinematography would begin as early as the first year of the Institute, at the age of 19, in the film “Triumph over Death” in 1967 where Timo will play the role of Fatos. The next role of this period will be that of Xhavit in the film “Why does this drumbeat” in 1969.

But the roles that will make him known to the general public will be those of Kabo Dalipi and Meço respectively in the films “Mountains clad in green” and “When a Day down” in 1971.

 

His acting skills will make him one of the most beloved actors for the Albanian public. The role of the Teacher in the movie “Poppies on the Wall” in 1976 has remained in the minds of the spectators, where his recitation of the poem “Anës Lumenjëve” by Fan S. Noli is one of the most beautiful moments of this movie. For the interpretation of this role and in 1976 he will be awarded the “Festival Medal” as “Best Actor” at the 2nd Albanian Film Festival that took place in Tirana from April 16 to 23, 1977.

During his career his artistic appreciations have been numerous, here we can mention the Festival Cup as “Best Actor” for the roles of Visar Shundo in the movie “The Militant” and that of Chechen in the movie “The First Night of Freedom”, both of these movies of 1984, at the VI Albanian Film Festival held in Tirana from October 1 to 5, 1985, the Festival Cup as “Best Actor” for the role of Agron in the film “Small Encirclement ” in The 7th Albanian Film Festival held in Tirana from April 13 to 18, 1987, the Festival Cup as “Best Actor” for the role of Agron in the film “Death of a Horse” at the 10th Festival of Albanian Film developed in Tirana from May 10 to 13, 1995.

Among his most successful roles we can mention the role of Kanan Tafili in the movie “War Paths” in 1974, the role of Mato Gruda in the movie “The Man with a Cannon” in 1977, the role of Çerçiz Topulli in the movie “Freedom or Death” in 1979, the role of Engineer Sergey in the movie “Face to Face” ” in 1979, the role of Martin Alushi in the movie “The Uninvited” in 1985, the role of Vladimir in the movie “Far from the Barbarians” in 1994, the role of Nikos in the movie “The Magic Eye” in 2004 and many others.

Another passion for Timo Flloko is literature. Thus, in 2003, he published the poetic collection “Rob i Manive”. He is also the author of several song lyrics. The song “Open Yourself” written by him would win the First Prize and the Critic’s Prize in “Magic Song 2007”.

In 2008, he would translate into Albanian the biography of the
world-famous actor Marlon Brando, published under the title “Beyond Fame”.

In 2007, he was declared “Personality of the Year” by the Municipality of Tirana. Married to the well-known director Vera Grabocka . Timo Flloko lived for 7 years in America in Los Angeles. Currently lives in Albania. For his artistic merits, Timo Flloko has been awarded the high title “Merited Artist”.
