Vera Grabocka – Flloko
Director, producer of many Albanian television programs.
Her artistic activity took off in the 90s.
She was born in Tirana on March 21, 1951. Graduated from the High Institute of Arts in the department of drama in 1971. While still a student, the well-known director Muharrem Fejzo cast her as an actress in the film “The Fitter Girl” (1970) in the role of Ana’s friend, who to become a fitter!

Then she started working at the Albanian Radio and Television in the department of artistic programs and shows. In addition to working for the organization of television shows, she also filmed theater performances as a director.
In the 90s, the production of the show “12 dances in Hollywood” will make her known as a director of shows. Then she brought to the public a series of festivals and competitions, which also gave her the approval of the audience. The experience gained in TVSH and her outstanding skills in the organization of mass and entertaining spectacles, made her take the first initiative as a director and producer of the well-known annual spectacle “Miss Albania”, which will later be organized in 1992. together with A. Gjebrea.
In 1997, she immigrated with her family to the USA and stayed there until 1999. In Los Angeles television programs, she took part as a director of the well-known spectacle “Miss Globe” in 1999, as well as in several other spectacles of this kind. After returning to his homeland, she organized several large-scale shows, in cooperation with several television stations that were open at that time.
One of the other shows that left an impression on the audience was “World Folk” in 1999, as well as “I love Albania more”, with prominent Albanian artists inside and outside the country. It will bring to Albania formats known in the world in terms of discovering new talents, and not only such as “X Factor Albania”, “Dance With Me”, “Your Face Sounds Familiar”, etc.
In her shows, the quality, the organizing ability of the large masses of participants in open performances, the rich directorial fantasy, the pleasant discoveries and surprises, the visuality of the movement, the aesthetically beautiful mise-en-scene, the feeling for the “fusion” of the stage with the hall stand out, rhythm and dynamics, emotional and entertaining effects.

Mrs. V. Grabocka is an artistic person with a long experience from the past and should they say that she has been directing, directing or organizing several Song Festivals even before the 90s, and from that time there have been some noises in our days that testify to the demands of the “comradess” (as they were once called), the criticisms what she did in the external appearance compared to some singers with “shfaqje te huaja borgjeze” that violated the “communist education”, women and men, for a suit jacket or a dress sewn with fashion, an “excessive” pendant, hair style and other of this nature that conflicted with the teachings of the Party in power.
Keshtu do te deshmoje zonja e nderuar dhe kengetarja aktore Adriana Ceko:
“…..ndryshe nga të rinjtë e sotëm atëhere kishim shumë pengesa. Një varëse kisha vënë unë në një festival dhe regjisorja Vera Grabocka erdhi dhe “ma shqeu” nga qafa. “Ç’është kjo!? Skandal, kujt ia vë ti këtë varëse…?!”
“Që nga ajo kohë unë mendoj se përcaktohej paraprakisht se ky ‘X’ do e marrë çmimin. Që nga ai çast unë e ndjeva se nuk duhet të shkoja më. Kjo ishte e para arsye që unë unë jam shkëputur përfundimisht nga festivali i Radiotelevizionit.” – perfundon kengetarja e spikatur e viteve 80-te”!!!
Well-known for her demands, persistence and the rules she dictates for the good of work even during the years of democratic development, there has been no lack of criticism towards her, especially for the edition of the 58th Song Festival when a jury allowed foreign and there were rumors that she even influenced the winning song.
One of those strong critical voices was that of Mrs. Diana Ziu, a well-known composer who expressed her admiration for Mrs. Grabocka in a letter.
“Sigurisht, une mendoj qe doren e ka vene Vera me miqte dhe servilat rreth saj… Mendoj qe jane klane mes miqsh… Dhe kjo ben skifo…
Ja pra, qe disa njerez te atij sistemi, i perkasin ne pushtet edhe ketij sistemi, jane “tape qe rrine mbi uje” ne cdo sistem!! Ishte Vera Grabocka qe me hoqi kengen (titrat e kenges gjate transmentimit ne T.V.SH dikur) vetem sepse tekstin e kishte bere Vagjel Toce, dhe me tha shprehimisht tek shkallet e autobuzit te televizionit, ku une po i lutesha ta transmentonte, dhe Vera pa pike meshire, tha:
Te lutem Diana, nuk behet, pasi Vangjo me biografine qe ka, ben probleme. Mundesisht shkruaj: muzika D. Ziu teksti D. Ziu!!!
Jo, sigurisht qe jo! i thashe… Burrin te cilin nuk e shita asnjehere per gjera me te medha se kaq. Por pasi ika nga shkallet e autobuzit te televizionit, thashe me vete… Keshtu ngjiten shkallet e karjeres Diana Ziu… Po une e dashur Vera, nuk ia shita shpirtin djallit as atehere dhe aq me teper tani. Por dua te te them Vera, faleminderit per gjithcka qe ti na percjell, se fundja kemi c’mesojme edhe nga kjo, pasi edhe une po pershkruaj modelin me te keq te artistit “vip” ne shqiperi.
Vertet kemi vuajtur shume si familje dhe nuk eshte e lehte te te heqin nga profesioni, per shume vite sic e hoqen Vangjon (Vangjel Tocen) nga teatrti, dhe shpirtin ja coptuan, por edhe tani si duket koherat nuk kane ndryshuar, te persekutuar atehere, te persekutuar edhe tani. Njerezit qe drejtojne, nuk kane ndryshuar, faatkeqsisht.
Tani qe dhe ne mundohemi ndershmerisht te vazhdojme te krijojme e te shkruajme muzike, sado pak, por me frymezim, dhe me passion, tani nuk na hapni rruge ju te etur per para, jo per art, dhe ne perseri jemi ne diktature. Njerez qe udheheqin me forcen e parase, dhe te bejne mik vetem kur ti ke para, eshte tmerr.
Kur e mendoj Shoqja Vera, dhe ajo qe une mendoj eshte shuume e frikshme… Mjere ju!!!!
Ms. Grabocka is the daughter of the former Chairman of the Korce District Party Committee, Myftar Grabocka, whose name today bears the name of a street in the great city of culture from which great names of Albanian art have emerged.
All this and other noises after this edition of the Song Festival have left a somewhat bitter taste, but of course, from the artistic side, they have by no means diminished the values and contribution that Mrs. Vera Grabocka has given as a director of television programs.
She is the wife of the well-known actor Timo Flloko, who for his part, after “throwing” all the roles and interpretations in Kinostudio’s films into the censorship “bin”, has asked for a public apology (!) and it is not clearly understood why this such statement.
Are actresses to blame for a role they played?
