Content of the film
Adaptation of the novel with the same title. The village teacher is faced with a fanatical elder, the priest Angel and a police captain who cause many difficulties in his work for the education of children. The poor highlanders find themselves in dilemmas as they have been forced to submit to superstitions and decaying power. The headman and the captain make plans to kill the teacher.
