VIDEO: Putpuri of Fierak songs by Brunilda Hoxha  (Sota)

Just like all later artists, the first artistic sparks appear in childhood. My older sister, Lindita, and I, together with our younger sister, would give concerts night after night at home, where the other members of the family would be the audience. Lindita, as the older sister, would take a double coffee pot instead of a microphone, while I, as the younger sister, would take a single pot.

The other members of the family were both spectators and members of the jury. They later became a great push for us to continue the path of singing. But all this did not happen by chance: our mother had a very beautiful and powerful voice. It was lucky for us that we inherited vocal cords like hers. Then I sang at the “Pioneers Festival” in Fier, where I have been a participant year after year and have been honored with various awards.

The most unforgettable memory at the beginning of my artistic career remains the persistent effort of Mr. Miço Sopiqoti who brought us two sisters onto the stage, in the republic-level competition of agricultural cooperatives. In this event, Fier was represented by the agricultural cooperative of Cakran, which was honored with the first prize and Luftar Paja was considered the best actor, while we, the sisters, were the best singers.

We were also highly appreciated for the fact that we were the youngest singers in the competition.

My musical repertoire has included both types of songs, both folk and light music. While the creativity that I have performed has been by the Albanian composers Nikollaq Bulo, Isuf Maloku, Mico Sopiqoti, Bardhyl Shehu, Ferit Hoxha, as well as by the composers Agron Xhunga, Agim Krajka, Gjergj Leka, Alfons Balliçi, etc.

In 1971 I sang at the second National Military Festival
In 1974 I sang at the 15th National Festival of the Song on R.T.V.SH.
In 1974 I began to be active in the professional stage of the city of Fier.

In 1978 I was accepted as a professional singer in the stage of Fier, and I was immediately received with great interest, both in my city and in other cities of the country.

From 1974 until 1991 I sang at all the concerts that T.V.SH prepared for the New Year’s Eve.

In 1981 and 1986 I was part of the “Myzeqeja Ensemble” with artistic director Mr. Nikollaq Bulo in the Balkan festivals organized in Turkey.
I can’t forget there, one night in 1986, when before the competition we were asked to sing the Turkish song “Emine” the next day in the competition, a song that had just been released and was among the successes of that time.
