Astrit Çerma
Actor, director of the theater “Skampa”, Elbasan, as well as an actor of the Albanian cinematography. Holds the title: “Merited Artist”.

Born on April 2,1949, in the city of Elbasan. After graduating from the High Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts), Cerma began working as an actor at the “Skampa” Theater in Elbasan. His roles have been numerous, both in the theater and in cinematography.

In the theater we mention the plays “The Golden Key” in the role of Dali, “Servants of two masters” in the role of Trufaldino, etc.
In the theater, he staged “The Businessman’s Wife”, “Whoever breaks a leg is lucky in love” by Dario Fo. His most recent comedy is “Qytet rrethimi” in 1998, written by Čerma himself, in which we will see him in the role of director. From 1991 to 1998, he was the Director of the “Skampa” Theater in Elbasan.

In cinematography, his first role will be that of Zenel in the film “Brazdat” in 1973, but the role that would make him famous would to be that of Shpetim in the film “At the beginning of summer” in 1975.

Then other leading roles in films would continue, such as the role of Milo in the film “Illegals” in 1976, the role of Ramiz in the film “They were four” in 1977, the role of Xhelo in the movie “Friends” etc.

In 1997, he performed in the Macedonian film “Touch the Ezeroto” directed by Antonio Mitriceski.

In 1998 he left Albania for the United States of America. He lived there in the town of Peabody near Boston working in a supermarket. He is also the author of the collection of poems and fables “Polls of Words”.

Currently lives in Albania.
For his artistic merits, Astrit Çerma has been honored with the high title “Honored Artist”.
