Avni Resuli (1926-1988) Actor / director, one of the veterans of the Albanian Theater and Cinematography.

He started his artistic activity in the amateur movement in the city of Tirana. In 1948, it will become part of the “People’s Theatre”. This year, he will perform the first role in the show “For those who are at sea”, which premiered on June 12. With the “People’s Theater”, he will have a long career of 40 years and rich in roles, about 100 of them although secondary and episodic roles.
From these interpretations of the actor, we can mention: “The Prefect”; “Auditor”; “The strange”; “Seven crabs”; “Three days of doomsday”; “Events at the factory”; “A bride for Stasi”; “The second face”; “Arturo Ui”; “The general of the dead army”; “Dead River”; “Patient Doctor”; “The era before the trial”; In cinematography, he was also active in several Albanian films, although he made a contribution : “Detyre e posacme” (Special Duty) – 1963 / “Ngadhenjim mbi vdekjen” (Triumph over Death) – 1967 / “Njesiti guerril” – 1969 (The Guerrila Unit) / “Gjurmet” (Traces) – 1970 / “Zemra qe nuk plaken” (Hearts that don`t grow old” – 1977 etc. From 1967 to 1974 he worked as a stage inspector, but did not break away from acting on stage. The special feature of his play is the aim to search for and find a separate space in the embodiment of the characters, especially by putting expressive elements of plasticity, expressive gesture, manner of speaking, etc. to the service of characterization. In addition to working as an actor, from 1980-81 Avni Resuli devoted himself more to his work as an assistant director in plays at the “People’s Theater” (today as TK-Natinal Theater) until he retired.
His last work was the preparation of the play “The Taming of the Bully” (there from 1988). He worked as a director with the amateur groups of the capitalcity Tirana, but also performed in radio dramatizations and the well-known show “Theatre in the Microphone”. He retired on September 3, 1988 and passed away a week later on September 10, 1988 ___________________
