Kristo Jorgji (1939-1999)
Actor, assistant director and documentary film director.
Teacher at the Academy of Arts in Tirana.

Born in Voskopja, on April 14, 1939. Completed her studies at the high school for actors “Aleksander Moisiu” near the National Theatre. Started working at Kinostudio “Shqiperia e Re” first as an assistant director and later as a director of documentary films, making several such: “25th Anniversary Brigade of Liberation” (1969); “He is the son of the working class” (1969); “National Youth Meeting”; “The first steps in the arena” (1971); “More meat for the people” (1971); “The Tale of the Sawyer” (1972); “The People’s Army” (1973); “Traces of freedom” (1973); “Basketball: RPSSH – China” (May 1, 1973); “500 days of war” (1973); “Vigilant Guard” (1973); “Friends at our party” (1975); “Brigada” (1975) honored with an award and many others.

He also performed as an actor in the film “The First Years” (1965); “Oshetime ne bregdet” (1966); “Commissar of light (knowledge)” (1966); “Valley of Riflemen” (1970).

He was an assistant director in the films: “Commissar of Light” (1966) “Silent Duel” (1967); “Open Horizons” (1968); “Ambush” (1968);

Jorgji spent some time as head of the script editor and later director of the Arts Directorate in the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Kristo Jorgji has also been a lecturer at the High Institute of Arts. Passed away in Tirana in 1999
