Kastriot Çipi Director, publicist and drama translator Born in Tirana on March 30, 1968. I studied theater direction at the Academy of Arts in Tirana, from where I graduated in 1994 with the staging of Rasini's "Andromaka", with graduate students of the department of drama. During his studies, he had several experiences as assistant director at the National Theatre, drama translator and publicist. In 1993, he started working as a full-time assistant director at Alba Film Studio, engaging in three feature films and performing two episodic roles. In the movie "A day in a life" (1994) in the role of a doctor and this year in the movie "Obituary" in the role of a prophet. He was also an assistant director in this film and in "Plastic Bullet". He continued to write occasional newspaper articles and later became the film and television editor of the weekly newspaper AKS. In the second half of the 90s, he attended several training courses, seminars and residencies for directing and theater management in England, USA, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria and Macedonia. In the years 1999 and 2002, he worked temporarily as deputy director of the National Theatre, while in the period between he actively participated in the debates on the Law on Theater and the reconstruction of the National Theatre. In recent years, Chipi devotes himself more strongly to creativity than to management and publishing. Staged at the National Theater the drama "Histori Zooparku" by Edward Albee (2003) and the comedy "Cylindri" by Eduardo De Filipo (2004), at the Opera and Ballet Theater the opera "An Autumn with a Storm" by Dhora Leka (2005), in the Albanian Theater of Skopje the comedy "Pants", adapted from the original text by Carl Sternheim (2006) and again in the National Theater the private production of Miro Gavran's comedy "My Wife's Husband" (2007) and finally the text "Love Letter" of AR Gurney. He translates, in addition to the plays he puts on the stage, the plays "Contrata" and "Striptiza" by Slawomir Mrozek, "The Oldest Profession" by Paula Vogel, "The Last Strip of Carp" by Samuel Beckett, "The Turn" by Tancred Dorst , "The Lieutenant of Inishmore" by Martin McDonagh, etc. Creates and maintains the Albtheatre Internet database and collaborates with the Albanian Artists project. In 2008 he organized the "Summer of the Adriatic" Festival, while in 2010 he was the director of the first edition of the "Albania is Culture" Festival that took place in Apolloni.
