PREMIERE PERFORMANCES OF THE “TEATRI POPULLOR” IN THE YEARS
One of the first theatrical performances “Gido”, would have its premiere on the stage of the “State Theater” (then Teatri Popullor) on September 26, 1945, exactly 79 years ago. According to the notes of the veteran artist of the Albanian stage and screen, Gjon Karma, this was the first part of the play that was played in the professional State Theater, by the authors Vesselinovic’ and Barzak, and which was adapted into Albanian by Spiro Lazri under the direction of Bozha Nikulic.
Folkloric piece, drama with 5 acts and 2 tableaus.
The piece presents life in a village, describing the fanaticism of a patriarchal father, the decision of two lovers and the pranks that are played in the village on the occasion of the election of the chieftain
