PREMIERES OF THE “TEATRI POPULLOR”
“Red Signal”
The play, with a script by Bashkim Kozeli and directed by Piro Mani “People`s Artist”, had its premiere on the stage of the Popular Theatre on January 24, 1973, exactly 52 years ago.
1973 – 2025
It is a fact, however, that this theater was first staged at the “Petro Marko” theater in Vlora (1971) and two years later at the People’s Theater (1973).
With this drama, which is considered the most successful of the playwright Bashkim Kozeli, where he presents the interstate political conflict between Albania and the former Soviet Union. It stands out for its patriotic spirit, its gallery of characters, its dramatic dialogue and its elevated, sometimes even pathetic, tones. It has been staged several times by the People’s Theater with different actresses who have also interpreted different roles in this play.
