Françesk Radi (1950-2017) was born in Tirana on February 13, 1949. He completed the Artistic High School and then the Academy of Arts in Tirana. For a long period of time he worked in the State Stage with the guitar instrument, but at the same time as a singer-songwriter. In 1992 he started working at Radio Tirana as a soloist, instrumentalist, during this time he composed and sang many songs at various festivals in RTSH. He also worked in the music editorial office of RTSH as a Music Specialist and singer-songwriter. Francesk Radi is originally from Shkodra, he spent his childhood in this city, where he received his education with Shkodra songs since he was little. He himself considered this part of time as the most beautiful of his life. Everything from that time left deep traces on him. All these emotions have influenced his musical formation. The idols of Albanian music for Franco have been Tonin Tershana and Vace Zela. He was quickly influenced by light world music, especially Italian music, where Adriano Celentano was his idol. He considered himself lucky to be influenced by Italian music, because it has always been a professional music that was worth taking as a model of world music, so not only Francesk Radi, but also his generation was lucky to be influenced from this kind of music and especially in the 70s, which is considered the golden period of music, not only of Italian music, but also of world music, when you could hear Celentano, Morandi, Batisti, Mina and many others who were models of gold for young Albanian singer-songwriters. It should not be left without mentioning that the first passion for the singer-songwriter Radi was the guitar, even though the conditions of the time were difficult. At first, he started with the mandolin, because he had no instrument, using the mandolin as a guitar with chords, deeply feeling that the guitar would become the only instrument that could accompany him during the song. From a young age, and then with the company, he realizes that he has a talent for singing and accompanying himself with the instrument of the guitar. That's why he competes in the Artistic High School of Tirana, without his parents' knowledge. After the competition, the jury, which included the great maestro Simon Gjoni, approves Radi as a future musician. It had to be admitted that it was a difficult time for the true artist, for the song and music of that time. Socialist realism had its own framework and it was difficult to get out of this framework, however we don't know how but things become more beautiful when they are stopped. Our musicians and Francesk Radi listened and benefited from that kind of music, the way of conception, the way chords break down the tonalities, that is, it has been a great help. There were school problems, lightning sheets, etc. At that time, Francesk Radi was seen as a bit modern, as he stood out with his guitar. There have been harassments, pressures during the interpretation of his songs, such as the case of the song "We were together in action" when it was pointed out that he had to perform it with a smile that he was singing "Action" that even though it was approved as a song after an inspection but they made a name for Rad after he appeared on the scene with golf, asking the dhogari who told him to appear on the scene like that. Such comical, but also dangerous situations were created. As in the case of the song "Adresa" where they told him "Franko, record it a bit simpler" it got to the point where the technician (of course it's good) turned to him "Is it possible to interpret it wrong otherwise the song can't pass" . Only after 90, after a relatively long time when he was separated from the profession after all the doors had been closed, a new wind began for the singer-songwriter, those that he had repressed in his memory, he finally managed to I express them. Participating in RTSH Festivals has always been a great responsibility for Francesk Radin, especially for the generation he represented, that of the 70s-80s, not only the generation, but all those singers who participated in this festival who have leave a mark in the history of Albanian song, starting with the great singer Vaçe Zela, Ema Qazimi, Luan Zhegu, Liljana Kondakçi and Kozma Dushi. With responsibility because he was the representative of those colors of the "team" of a golden generation of singers, who continue to be the most favorite among Albanian art fans. Some of his songs most heard by Arteda residents: "Adresa"; "Bicycle"; "Prison Rock"; "I lost spring"; "Summer Wind"; "Weary Heart"; "I Got the Mandolin"; "Flowers"; "Hey bird"; "Suzana (Italian version); "Heart Calls" etc. Changed his life on April 3, 2017 after a serious illness, a cerebral hemorrhage that occurred a week ago. _____________ Albanian cinematography in activity since 2013 Reference: Newspapers and various online portals.
