Bujar Zajmi (1939-2022) Film painter and costume designer. He was born in Tirana on July 7, 1939, where he graduated from the "Jordan Misja" art high school for painting, which he graduated in 1959. In the years 1960-1962, he specialized in polygraphy in the German Democratic Republic, in Leipzig. He completed his higher studies at the Institute of Painting Arts. In 1966, he started working at Kinostudio as an advertising painter. Then he worked as a costume painter in the film "Guerrilla Unit" (1969) and in the same year in another film "Why do these drums fall". As a film painter, he made only the films "The Courageous" – 1970, and "Conscience" – 1972. In the period 1972-1975, he worked as an artistic editor in the magazine "We serve the people". Between 1975-1978, he became the head of the postal stamps sector at the General Directorate of Posts. From 1978 to 1992 was spent as the head of the editorial office of Illustrated Publications at the "8 Nentori" Publishing House, and from 1993-1994 editor at the newspaper "Kosova" and from here as the head of the printing department at the National Library. He also worked as a lecturer at the Artistic High School in "Jordan Misja" from 1978 until 1986 and has held several social functions as Vice Chairman of the Graphics Commission of the League of Writers. Chairman of the "Goethe" Cultural Association and chairman of the Albania-Germany Friendship Association, former chairman of the association Ibrahim Kodra, etc. Bujar Zajmi has participated in many national exhibitions of figurative arts with joint or personal works as well as in many international exhibitions in Germany, Italy, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Montevideo, London, Sweden and France, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria. The most recent is the realization of the Exhibition dedicated to old Tirana with 65 works of the author, mainly in the oil on canvas technique, open to the public until November 25, 2011. It is also taken with book or newspaper illustrations. He was honored with two second prizes in graphics in 1974 and 1978 and with a first prize in 1980.
