THE PREMIERES OF THE POPULAR THEATER As today 66 years ago, on May 12, 1957, the premiere of the theater "Ne Gjeneve", a play by the author S. Vaqarri, will be shown on the stage of the Popular Theatre. Note: It is true to say that a photo can show much more. It is irrefutable evidence that goes back in time. Therefore, one of the two photos that we have made possible from this theater, as it seems quite clear, shows the two well-known actresses of our stage and screen, Kadri Roshi and Esma Agolli, interpreting a kiss between two young people. The year is 1957. Doesn't such an action seem contradictory? How is it possible that at that time in Albania the communist government of Enver had come to power, which strictly prohibited such actions in theatrical or cinematographic performances, at least that's what it was said, or more precisely, it was shown to today's young generation, that kissing was taboo , "forbidden apple", classical performances by foreign authors were forbidden by law, clothes and costumes were out of fashion, love was not a part of communist art, etc., so black and white, black and white, a real hell. ….. What about this photo that proves the opposite then? How then can the theatrical performances precisely by foreign classical authors such as Shakespeare and Moliere be opposed, which were staged by the People's Theater from the beginning of the time of this institution? We, as the management staff of this page, do not want to become anyone's defense lawyers and of course the performing arts (theatre, film, music, humor) were under the control of the politics of the time, but it was done with selflessness, sacrifice without denying traditions, culture and the emancipation of Albanian society. While today it is regrettably found and must be accepted even worse, with the direction towards the path of denigration and degeneration rather than that of modernization and integration of our society. Completely outside any control, supervision or criticism. Art after c. In the 90s, the institutions and a good part of our artists (the part of the young people who want to be confirmed as artists) are dependent on the destructive political class and the ruling parties that take the seat of power in turn. Young artists must first become party militants if they want to be reaffirmed as actresses (interpretive ability is of little importance), female singers in most cases must undergo plastic surgery and undress in front of the public to achieve fame (regardless that the lyrics and music of the songs are of Neanderthal levels)…..and the examples are many without wanting to mention names.
