Aishe Stari is a well-known actress in the comic genre, a great master with a very long artistic career.
Born on May 21, 1940, and lives in Durres, originally from Ulcini. Her grandfather was the headman in Ulcini, from where the surname Stari, which means “Old Man” in Slavic, was derived.
Her connection with art is from her childhood when she liked to dance, recite, sing, proving that she was inclined towards art. During the high school period, she often expressed that she dreamed of becoming an actress, but when she finished high school, such a branch was not yet open, so she continued her studies in biochemistry.
After a year, in 1959, she broke away to enroll in acting school, thus being among the first actresses with a professional academic background. After finishing her studies at ILA, in the drama department (1960-1964), she was appointed to the Durrës Theatre, to then move to Estrada, becoming one of the most charming actresses in this troupe and in the whole country.
She immediately attracted attention, not only because she was one of the first actresses to come from a genuine acting school, but also because of her appearance and character. Tall, graceful, with sparkling eyes and always cheerful, Aishe Stari says that she found a warm and friendly environment in the Durrës theater troupe, even though she was young. The first confrontation with the public was during the presentation of a premiere, which was proposed by the director Gjergj Vlashi, while the first role was the performance in a theatrical piece, in which she had previously also performed to defend her degree.
The roles are endless, even she herself does not know how many of them she has performed, maybe four or five hundred, this is due to the very fact that estrada engages you with several roles at once within a show. Stari performs many of these roles in various genres and types of variety theater such as comedy, humorous pieces, monologues, dialogues, pantomimes, couplets and parodies.
In well-known performances of Estrade in Durres, she has had leading roles such as “Magic Box” (1963) prepared for children; “Letters” (1966); “Tempering (1967); “Personalities and Fire on Rumors” (1970); “Who’s Next” (1971); “Bon Voyage comrade Xhemal” (1975); “A Groom Wanted” (1978); “Unforgettable Memories” (1979); “Look at yourself in the mirror” (1979); “In the Television Studio” (1979); “See and write” (1984); “Goodmorning” (1986); the comedy “The Trickster” etc. After the 90s, there was a retreat, becoming less active. However, Aishe returns to the scene with “Alo Estrada” (1996), “DVD 06” (2006);
In v. 2008 masterfully portrays the role of Eugenia in the drama “Tango” by S. Mrozek.
Stage charm, flexibility, plasticity of movement, imitative strength, grace and beauty, talents to portray diverse types and characters from broad popular layers are some of her expressed acting qualities. In the variety of the career of almost 45 years, there are often talkative woman types, somewhat rude and fat peasants who follow their narrow interest, as well as figures of wise old women and old women, harassers, swindlers, spoiled girls, strict officials, party militants, etc.
Aishe Stari is among the last actors and artists of the generation that raised the Durres Variety Theater to the highest pedestal. A part of her cherished memories have to do with her colleagues, with whom she shared the stage for so many years, with whom she gave the Durres audience, and not only, laughter and endless emotions. Not forgetting her partners where she works, such as Ramazan Njala, Enver Lekmetaj, Nikolin and Meropi Xhoja, etc.
For a long time, Aishe Stari has directed the radio show of fairy tales for children, as the main performer, where her special talent stood out to create through imitation a gallery of characters from the animated world of animals or various types of professions, in age, speaking with a provincial accent.
She has also acted in several Albanian films in which she is debuting in 1969, with a small episodic role as a train ticket seller in “Why this drum beats”.
