Alfred Bualoti
Actor, lecturer at the Academy of Arts with a long activity on the stage, a well-known actor and director of the National Theater where he distinguished himself above all with the famous comedy “Palace 176”.
Born in Tirana on October 5, 1953. In his early youth, he had two very different dreams, he wanted to be a doctor or a football coach. But the life and career of Mr. Bualoti took another direction. He graduated from the High Institute of Arts as an actor in 1974. He worked for a short time in Albanian Radio-Television and then transferred to become part of the Gjirokastra Theater Troupe. Alfred also completed a qualification course of several months at the National Theater “Chaillot” in France.
Attracted by directing at the National Theater and by the function of the actor, in which he played several roles such as Arbeni in the drama “Smoke that clears Off” (1974); “Tower of Hutaj” (1981) by Kole Jakove; Artani in “The Year 1945” by Teodor Lacos. In 1982, he completed the one-year directing course at the High Institute of Arts. A year later, in 1983, he staged the dramatization based on D. Agolli’s novel “The Rise and Fall of Comrade Zylo”, together with the other director Andon Qesari, where he even interprets with a subtle sense of humor in the unmasking line itself, the role of Zylo.
The directorial test in this show continues with the drama “On the brink of life” by Dh. Xhuvani, same year. Together with the director Andon Qesari, they are successful in the comedy written by A. Balashi “Palace 176”, a show that had a sensational reception from the general public all over Albania and which was performed over 320 times within a 5-year period. It continues again with Andon Qesari in another comedy “Titanic Waltz” (1989) by the Romanian Mushatescu. Sami Frasher’s “Besa” in 1992 was the reconfirmation of an early work of Albanian dramaturgy, seeking from it not so much the mythical and exotic plane of faith, but the social re-evaluation as an Albanian sacred and ethnological institution.
“Sixth floor” by A. Zehri in v. 1993 brought an atmosphere as dramatic as it was comical. In v. 1994 he put on the stage of Ferdinand Rad’s comedy “8 persons plus”. In 2002, it was the turn of another comedy “I want a man (Miss 39 years old)” where the burlesque and farcical forms in the construction of the characters caught the eye. In 2007, the drama “Bells of Dusk” by Teodor Lacos was staged.
The first film as an actor will be in v. 1975 “At the beginning of summer”; In 1976, in the film “The Forest of Freedom”, he began to stand out as an actor with professional quality and ability, while playing a difficult role that, among other things, also required athletic and physical preparation, precisely the role of a young man, the villager of poor Vlashi who followed the horses.
In 2000, in Butrint, he was the director of the first International Theater Festival in Albania.
