Esat Mysliu Director, screenwriter and producer. Born in Streblevë, Peshkopia, on April 22, 1945. He studied sculpture at the Artistic High School and first worked as a painter in the enterprise "Migjeni in Tirana. Then he worked as a journalist for the magazine "Hosteni". In 1969, he began his higher studies at the Institute of High School of Arts (today the Academy of Arts) and finished them in 1973, the year he started working at Kinostudio "Alhqipëria e Re" as a director. At first he worked as an assistant with well-known directors such as Dhimitër Anagnosti (People's Artist). ), Gëzim Erebara (Deserved Artist), etc. The first film he will work on as an assistant will be the film "War Paths" in 1974. In 1975, he will finish his post-graduate course as a film director. The year 1977 will be the year in which he will appear in front of the public as a real director, first co-directing the film "They were four" and then, in collaboration with the director Esat Ibro, directing the film "Hearts that do not get old". His first film as an independent director will be the film "The Road to Freedom" in 1982. Other films would continue, such as the film "The First Night of Freedom" in 1984, the film "The Shadows That Remain" pas" in 1985, whose direction would be awarded the "Aleksandër Moisiu" Award as the best film of 1985, and the III Award for "Film Direction" at the VII Albanian Film Festival, the film "Circle of Memory" in 1987, the film "Years of Waiting" in 1989, a film for which the III Prize will be awarded for both "Film Direction" and "Film Screenplay" at the IX Festival- of Albanian Film in 1991, the film "Night" in 1996. Esat Mysliu has also directed many documentary films with which he has participated in many national and international film festivals. Here we can mention the film "We do not forget" for which it was awarded the Cup of the VII Documentary Film Festival in 1987, the film "The Disappeared" which was to be honored with the FIAT/IFTA Archive Achievement Award ) given by the International Federation of Film Archives (International Federation of Television Archives FIAT/IFTA) in 1995. With the documentary "Homos Balkanicus – Lake Prespa" he participates in the XIVth International Festival of Films on Archaeological Themes (Rassegna Internazionale del Cinema Archeologico) held from April 6 to 11, 2003 in Roveretto, Italy, where it will be awarded by the international jury with the "Paolo Orsi" Prize (ex aequo) (Premio Biennale "Paolo Orsi") which is awarded once every two years, in the VIth Edition of the competition with the same name that takes place at this festival. In 1986, he specialized in directing in Italy. Mention in his long artistic career is also the directing of the first movie with dolls "Girl with paws" in 1975. From 1998 to 2008 he worked as a director at the private television "Vizion Plus" where he directed and more than 148 documentary films. Thus his cycle "Tunel" broadcast by this television had a warm welcome from the public. From 2004 to 2009, he worked as a Film Project Specialist at the National Center of Cinematography. Currently, Esat Mysliu is an External Lecturer at the Academy of Arts.
