Rita Gjeka “Great Master”, actress of the “Migjeni” Theater, Shkoder, was born!
Born in Shkodër, on May 22, 1960. Gjeka completed elementary and High School in his hometown. After she completed her higher studies at the Academy of Arts as an actress in 1985.
With the theater troupe of the Higher Institute, she also performed in the play “Bernarda Alba’s House”.
Since 1985 and until now she has been an actress and director in the theater “Migjeni” where she has performed over 50 roles, mostly secondary roles but which she covered with professionalism, this is due to the fact that the theater institution in Shkoder had an unparalleled cast of actors.
However, she had the honor of being part of the staff scene of “Migjeni” until 1990.
Beside playing in theater, Rita Gjeka was active in two Kinostudio feature films, still a student in “The Road to Freedom” (1982) in the role of Marta, the mountaineer delegate for the women’s congress, as well as in “Temporary brilliance” (1988) a more prominent role of a teacher Moza.
Gjeka also took part in several Albanian films after the 2000s, from which we can mention “Burrnesha”, even though it was an episodic role.

Mainly, Rita is an actress where she stood out for the realization of characters, mountain women, “burrnesha” mothers.
It is a participant in several Theater Festivals and has been awarded prizes. In 2017, the President of the Republic awarded her the title “Grand Master”.
Since 2016-2023, she was the director of the theater “Migjeni”.
