SOPHIA LOREN, late 1950s

Sofia Loren, or Sofia Villani Scicolone, was born in Rome on September 20, 1934, she is known as an Italian actress and singer. She is one of the most popular actresses in world cinematography. Her mother Romilda Villani was a simple piano teacher, while her father was a businessman in the construction sector. Her parents never got married, my father only gave Sofia the paternal name, giving her the name of his mother. Sofia's grandfather came from a well-known family and held the title of Marquis. During one year she took part in almost 15 films, but her turning point began in 1951, when she met the producer Carlo Ponti, who noticed her in a beauty contest where Sofia was invited and the next day invited her to his studio for a conversation . Ponti was amazed by her potential and offered her a 7-year contract which was the springboard for her success. Sofia was 15 years old when she met Carlo and he was 37. However, they married together in September 1957 and she remained his wife until the death of K. Ponti in 2007. One of her first and most important roles was the role of Cleopatra alongside the great Alberto Sordi in the film "Two nights with Cleopatra" directed by Mario Mattoli, in 1953. The year 1954 was the year she met the actor Marcelo Mastrojani for the first time, in the film "Peccato che sia una canaglia ", (Too bad she's a fraud) directed by Alessandro Blasetti, starring the well-known actor Vittorio De Sica. 1950 – 1957 will be the years of the beginning of her career and gaining fame in the international arena. In the film "The Gold of Naples" (Ari i Napolit – 1954) with a role he plays there will also be the stage when he "will be noticed" by entering the lane of a world cinema star.
