Vasil Çuklla
Actor of “Zihni Sako” Theater, Gjirokaster.
Born in the city of Gjirokastra on September 26, 1962. He attended primary, eight-year and high school in his hometown. He finished high school in the school year 1981-1982. In 1983, after winning the dramatic art competition, he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana. Cuklla completed his 4-year studies at this Academy and recently returned, appointed, near the “Zihni Sako” Theater of the city.
Worked near this Theater from 1987 until 1991, the year after which he left for emigration. Although appointed to the Dramatic Theatre, in 1987, where he stands out as a talent, in his first show, with a starring role, “Bloody Peace” authored by Sadik Bejko and directed and performed by the “People’s Artist”, Ndrek Luca.
In 1988, he was appointed to the Professional Estrada Troupe of Gjirokastra. There are no shows in this sector without at least 6-7 roles from him. He left for emigration in 1991 and recently returned to the Theater in 2006. Since this year, he has been working at the Theater as an actor and as an appointed director.
In addition to the roles played, 7 new premieres have been staged, the vast majority of which have not seen the light of the stage in any Albanian Theatre.
He was also active as an actor in the film “Balkan Pazar” – 2011
The premieres are as follows:
1 – “After death and the Thessaloniki Club”…with the author of the renaissance, Andon Zako Çajupi.
2 – “Lie for Lie”… by Ray Cooney.
3 – “Father”… authored by Ruzhdi Pulaha.
4 – “Lemons from Sicily”… authored by Luigi Pirandello.
5 – “Oh what money does to you!”… authored by Ray Cooney.
6 – “The last moons”….. by Furio Bordon
7 – “One bed for three”, or: “Nina”…. by Andre Russin.
