The ballet "Cuca e maleve" is based on the subject of the drama with the same title by the writer Loni Papa. This work reflects the efforts and struggle of Albanian women and girls in the Northern regions of Albania for education and emancipation in the post-war period.

In 1970, co-authors Loni Papa and Agron Aliaj created the libretto of the ballet "Cuca e Maleve". The ballet was staged by the troupe of the Opera and Ballet Theater under the choreography of ballet master Agron Aliaj and with music by the composer Nikolla Zoraqi. Prominent Albanian artists such as Zoica Haxho, Mukades Erebara, Petrit Vorbsi, Hajdar Shtuni, Albert Janku etc. have performed in it.

The ballet "Cuca e Maleve" was revived on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theater in 1984, where its protagonists were young and talented ballerinas such as Albana Sulejmani, Ilir Kerni, Ludmill Çakalli, etc.

The ballet "Cuca e Maleve" has been performed in Albania and abroad.

This ballet was screened in the form of a musical film directed by Dhimitër Anagnostin in 1974 and was reflected several times in the Albanian philately of that time.
