Xhemil Tagani (1945-2021) Albanian theater and cinematographer! He was born on February 6, 1945. He stood out for his characteristic voice and professional interpretation of characters. He graduated in 1967 at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" High School for Actors, "Acting" branch. He started working as an actor in 1968 at the People's Theater and remained part of the organization of this institution until he retired. He has performed many secondary and episodic roles. He was noted for his organic abilities to create independent characters, mostly viewed from their comic and sarcastic sides, filled with vices, snobbery, physical and spiritual deficiencies or with cheerfulness, joy and hilarity without harm. Such qualities were noticed in the roles he played in the plays "Fytyra e dyte", "Under the lights of the stage", "Duke u gdhire year 145", "Monserrati". "Communists", "House with two gates" and other shows. For some of his most successful roles, we mention: Sami in "This is how I love you", Selimi in "Bashke me Agimin", Peč Mblloçi in "Dead River", Tushka in "A bride for Stas", Thomai in "Under the lights" of the scene", Alqi in "Student of the last year", Reizi in "Duke u ghedir 1945", Agroni in "Friends", Uçi in "Irreplaceable". etc. Not infrequently his acting took on the colors of the grotesque, with the exaggeration of the comic features of the characters, but without losing the truth and naturalness of the expression theirs. He used slang with grace and effect in the tyranny of speech, as was clearly noticed in his portrayal of the role of Qazim Mullet in the comedy "The Prefect" by B. Levonje (1974), which remains one of his best achievements; or he fruitfully used the comic contradictions offered by the situation in the relationships between his character and his action, as with the role of Jorgo in the drama "Doctor Patient" by R. Pulaha. Xhemil Tagani has performed over 70 roles in the theater and a considerable number in cinematography. He particularly stood out in the role of the priest in "Tale from the Past" (1987) as well as the role of the bey in "Toke e pergakur" (1976). After 1992 Xhemil Tagani retired.
