Xhevdet Ferri (1960-2020) One of the most prominent actors of the Albanian cinematography of the 80s.
He was born on November 26, 1960 in the city of Durrës. In 1982, he graduated from the Academy of Arts, drama branch, and then remained a teacher of acting at this Academy. He continues his academic career up to the position as Dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Art at this Academy. He performed in about 30 roles in cinematography and theater. He performed a few roles in the theater, but he achieved the greatest success as an actor in feature films (around 13 roles). He has been in the role of the protagonist in almost all the films. MP in 1980 in "Sketerre `43" as Arjani and in the same year in "Vellezer d'shoke" catching the eye for the role of Marko. 5 years later, in 1985 will become known with the interpretation of the role of Agron in his second film "Shadows that remain behind". In his portrayal of Gori in the other film "Dhe vijn nje dite", for which he was awarded the medallion of the festival in 1986, other interpretive qualities stand out, such as naturalness, calmness and simplicity accompanied by his straightforward character. acting. He stood out for a special acting individuality. Other prominent roles for the actor Xhevdet Ferri are that of Artani in "Sketerre 43`" (1980); Paul in "The Red Faith" (1982); Sandri in "Vendimi" (1984); the hero in "Tales from the Past" (1987); Martin in "The train leaves at 7 to five" (1988); Gjon Kadri in "The Waiting Years" (1990); With the role of Sako, in the film "Sako's Wedding" (1998), Xhevdet Ferri once again reaches a high artistic point of interpretation. I apply with acting sense the emotional silence, where the fixed, somewhat cloudy eye of the Persian is accompanied by an inner feeling, but the exterior is self-contained. It stands out for interweaving the emotional planes of vigorous actions with those of a seemingly phlegmatic nature, so meditative and peaceful. He also directed the film "Spousal Betrayal" where he plays the role of the husband, one of the three main roles. From the years 1995-1999 he was the director of the National Cinematography Center, taking this post again in 2006. While in the years 1999-2001 he was the director of the National Theater. He specialized in the field of "Management of Artistic Institutions" in Amsterdam and Oxford. In the time period 1996 – 1998, he was a DP deputy in the People's Assembly. In 2004, he co-founded the Association of Albanian Cinematographers, being the first President of this Association. Currently, in addition to being involved in (KKK), he is also a lecturer at the Film and Multimedia School "Marubi". Xhevdet Ferri is married to actress Rozeta Ferri.
