Maestro, Robert Radoja Musician, composer! He was born on April 15, 1938 in Bologna, where his family then moved to Shkoder. At the tender age of 4, she fell in love with the piano and from that moment she was never separated from the musical instrument. He is the son of an agronomist, whose father, after finishing primary school at the Saverian College in Shkoder, went to study at the agricultural school in Italy, specializing in Viticulture and Oenology. So the future maestro Robert Radoja spent his childhood in the village! His family was often frequented by great artists from Shkodra, friends of his parents, and it was here that Robert found his first piano teacher, Mrs. Tida Metgushi. Later, he undoubtedly takes inspiration from a great name of Albanian music, the great Prenke Jakova. Learn in the first steps with an accordion from the great master himself to devote yourself seriously to the piano later. In 1951, he entered the Artistic High School (ILA), but since the rules at that time were rigorous, and Radoje was 12 years old, he was asked to study another musical instrument, the flute! He must take exams once a month until he meets the conditions to play the piano. Throughout this time at Lice and Radio Tirana, he meets and befriends unforgettable art personalities such as Bexhet Nelku; Serafin Fanko, not to mention a long list of teachers who disciplined students just by their presence. Robert has to study and work hard, 6-8 hours on the piano in a course that consisted of three boys and 18 girls who studied on the four possible pianos during the day, while three boys had to study at night (from 8 in the evening until 6 in the morning). Robert Radoja can be considered as the second generation of Albanian pianists who graduated from the Artistic High School. After completing his studies at the Lyceum in 1966, based on the state rules of the time, the student had to return to his hometown. But maestro Radoja wants to stay in Tirana and after some contacts he starts working at the Palace of Pioneers, staying in this institution for 20 years and producing wonderful students like Inva Mula or Ermonela Jaho and above all Tedi Papavrami, the world famous violinist. In 1986, he returned to the Artistic High School (ILA) and worked there as a teacher for 6-7 years. He is the husband of the late artist Tatjana Radoja, who unfortunately passed away at the age of 40. In addition to other musical activities, he made a valuable contribution to cinematography, for a time as a music editor and by composing the music for 15 feature films and cartoons. His activity begins in 1970 with the composition of the music for the film "The Brave". Among other films that carry his composition are: "Mengjese lufte" – 1971; "Mimosa Garter" – 1973; "Little Driver" (drawing) – 1977; "Spring Festival" (drawing) – 1978; "Partisan grandfather" – 1978; "Balloons" – 1979; "Gishto trimi" (drawing) – 1979; "The first day of appointment" – 1981; "Threat" – 1981; "Like all the others" – 1981; "A little delay" – 1982; "Trap" – 1983; "People of my class" – 1984; "Nothing is forgotten" – 1985.

For the 11th Song Festival, maestro Radoja will express himself as follows: "Everyone is discussing the 11th Festival. But the one that has been criticized the most was the 2nd Festival of 1963, which no one mentions! The festival was realized as a copy of the Italian San-Remo that had been held in Italy for 10 years. The 11th festival was much weaker than the 2nd from the artistic point of view and from the "modern" foreign performances that were not allowed. All dictatorships carry out reforms that affect not only the social side but also the structural side, so many cultured people who loved their country with their soul were washed away. It was said that we were arrested at the 11th Festival, but I was present at that Festival myself, and apart from Sherif Merdan for other reasons and his last name, who was imprisoned, no other artist has been convicted. None!” When asked if Albania had communism, he answered: "Communism in Albania was an empty expression. Communism is a belief, not a system. The system has been a dictatorship" Exclusivity on this page is dated April 14, 2021 Edited on January 29, 2024 __________________ Albanian cinematography in activity since 2013 Reference: The artist's own interview given in abc Albania "Score of the life of Robert Radojes". as well as the Encyclopedia of Albanian Cinematography – Toena 2002 / A.
