Sokrat Musha (1926 – 1997) Operator, "Honored Artist" He was born in Tirana on April 15, 1926, where he completed technical high school. He took an active part in the National Liberation Antifascist movement. In 1947, he completed a special two-year operator course in Prague (Czechoslovakia). He started as a cinematographer near the Kinostudio "Shqiperia e Re" in 1949, initially dealing with the shooting of newsreels and documentary films. He shot the first short feature film, in 1957, the one known as "Her Children" directed by Hysen Hakanin, also co-authoring with M. Koci in the shooting of the first Albanian feature film "Tana" ( 1958). He was also a co-author in the shooting of the joint Albanian-Soviet film "Fortuna" (1959 with the directors K. Dhamo – Ozerov) Sokrat Musha gave a great help especially in the chronic and documentary cinematography, shooting as an operator about 160 films, in addition to featurettes of newsreels. Among his most popular documentary films are "Dance of the Albanians" (1960), which was awarded an International Prize. Then we can mention: "Cajupi and Ndre Mjeda" (1966); "Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu" (1967); "Writings for Skanderbene" (1967); "Journey with our seas" (1971); "Treniste" (1972); "Treniste" (1972); "Muslim Peza" (1974); "Partisan song" (1974); "Onufri was once a legend too" (1976); "Albanian Painting in the Middle Ages" (1980) etc. Other documentary films : green crown – 1960; in health service – 1963; poem of twenty thousand – 1966; son of the party – 1967; reclaimed lands – 1969; the tree was broken – 1969; exhibition of great friendship – 1970; in the port of Durres – 1970; Viktor Eftimiu in Albania – 1971; Albania exhibition – 1971; collaborator with artist-1971; pre-1971 evidence; festival reporter-1971; always growing-1974; the choir ensemble performs in Kosovo-1975; mine land drainage-1975; the golden hands of rationalizers-1975, the tractor driver and our copper-1975; as much oil as possible for the homeland-1976; working man-1977; inspiration from life-1977; kukesi bridges – 1977; to the young textile workers-1977; The river of my Albania-1978; Riza Cerova-1978; the boy fights, the old man fights, mujo ulqinaku fights-1979; across Turkey with the ensemble of folk songs and dances-1979; the exhibition Albania today-1980; repatriation of Greek soldiers-1980; our press of war-1982 as well as about 110 other chronic films and documentaries shot with co-authors of other cinematographers along with several dozens of newspaper clippings. For the artistic value of his films, he was given the high title "Deserved Artist". His life changed in Tirana from a cerebrovascular hemorrhage on September 20, 1997.
