The first Albanian film operator, before the creation of Kinostudio.

Born in Tirana, on September 23, 1918. He was one of the first Albanian cameramen who filmed the political chronicles of the years after World War II. Together with his contemporary, cameraman Mandi Koçi, they shot with an Italian “ETA” film camera left as war spoils the first Albanian documentary film “Commander’s Visit to Central and South Albania (1947) which was followed by another one “Durre Railway -Tirana”.

These films have a historical importance for themselves, the fact that they are early and have recorded important events for the time. His films stand out for the enthusiasm, patriotism and care to capture on camera the construction work, the optimism of people to overcome the obstacles and the ruins of the war.

His objective has brought many views from different areas of Albania, the opening of schools, the opening of tunnels, new roads, beauty and alpine landscapes, the coast, views of Albanian cities, he has shot films about folklore and artistic cultural traditions, for pictures historical and prominent personalities.

During his work at Kinostudio, he shot hundreds of newsreels, worked as a co-author of dozens of newsreels and independently shot about 90 newsreels and documentaries, including: “The City of 1000 Windows” (1959), “Rozafa’s Song” (1960). , “Migheni” (1960); “Folk dance motifs” (1963); “Thousands of years ago” (1963); “Our Theater” (1964), “Through the streets of light” (1969); “The furnace” 1970 etc.

All these serve today as a film archive of the history of the Albanian people, of the work and transformations that took place in Albania after World War II. Over the years, his artistic range expanded, causing him to be honored with the high title of the time “Hero of Socialist Labor”. It was published for the first time on the page “Albanian Cinematography” on Facebook in August 2016 and was revised in the following years. _________________
