Born in Tirana in 1942 At a young age, he became active in the circles of pioneers in the “Ali Kelmendi” Palace of Culture in the Theater shows.
At the age of primary school in the 6th grade, he was also active in children’s programs at Radio Tirana, at the old radio station on Kavaje street in Tirana.
Afterwards, he will continue to work in this institution as an external collaborator, initially dealing with children’s programs and later he will move on to youth and adult shows.

After completing his higher studies at the Faculty of History and Philology, Language and Literature branch, he will officially start working as a journalist at Radio Tirana in 1965.
When he officially started working at Radio Tirana, he was assigned to the programming department, from where he nominated in that of information.

It must be said that before being appointed to Radio Tirana, Alfons Gurashi gave tests to become an actor in the presence of one of the veterans of the Albanian Theater, Pandi Stillu.

His own desire was to become an actor. The tests were successful, but his father insisted that he should definitely become a journalist, and so it happened. At the insistence of his father, Alfonsi is forced to leave the drama school and after finishing his higher studies, and refusing to become a teacher in Rroskovec, he gets a job at Radio Tirana.

First, he was the dispatcher in the programming editorial office, which also had speakers as dependents. Here he has the great fortune to have his first contact with respected personalities of the Albanian microphone such as Vera Zheji and Haki Bejleri. His task was that of a mechanical sorter of letters and news from the newsroom in the news broadcast studio at Radio Tirana. This was his task, which he did for about 2-3 months, quite simple and bureaucratic as well as every dispatcher when covering this position in Radio. This job was not giving him satisfaction and he likes to change his position on the radio. Thus, without taking permission from anyone and all in his head, he makes a documentary, a radio program which is broadcast on the evening news on the radio entitled “At the Faculty of Medicine”, which is thus considered the first radio program of Alfons Gurashi on Radio Tirana .

Immediately with the opening of Albanian Television TVSH, he will be one of the first to become part of the department of information staff in this institution. His first contact with television was precisely in an experimental station that was operating in the Radio building while waiting for the completion of the building that was planned to start the Albanian Television TVSH – (later RTSH of the present).
He starts working directly in the newsroom, dealing now with the daily chronicle, which of course was quite political at that time.

Alfons Gurashi has more than 30 years of work at RTSH. Chronicles, interviews, reports from every corner of Albania make him an icon of Albanian journalism and information.
It is remembered for a live broadcast of three hours in 1985, the funeral of Enver Hoxha, the leader of Socialist Albania, a broadcast that was not only stressful , but also a very responsible at the time, where a mistake, no matter how small, could cost him a criminal sentence .
