Kristaq Dhamo (1933 – 2022) Director, art critic, holds the high title: People's Artist. He was born on April 20, 1933 in Fier. After graduating from the artistic Lyceum "Jordan Misja" in Tirana for dramatic arts, he continued his studies at the Higher Institute of Cinematography in Budapest, Hungary. In 1956, he started working at the Kinostudio "Alhqiperia e Re". During 1 year 1957-1958 he shot the first Albanian film "Tana", at the same time the first feature film which he presented as a thesis in Budapest. Together with Gezim Erebaren, they shot the documentary films "We fell in love with Shqiperine" (1959); "Song and Dance Ensemble" (1960); And so, together with the Russian director Yuri Ozerov, they shot the feature film "Fortuna", the last collaboration with Soviet cinematography. His first film that resonated was "Vite e para" (1965), which as a film was awarded the Republic Award. Among his later films, "Mengjeze lufte" (1971) stood out in particular; "From the middle of darkness" (1978); "Autumn Rebuke" honored with an award for directing in v. 1981, "Vendimi" was also awarded the prize for directing in 1984, and "Invisible World" (1987), which was awarded the "Aleksander Moisiu" award in 1987. 
Kristaq Dhamo made a total of 11 feature films and 5 documentaries. Among the documentaries, the one with the title "They don't die" stood out. In the most successful films of the director Dhamo, there is a harmony and unity between the interior and the artistic form, they stand out for the calmness of the composition without excessive line breaks, avoiding overloads and fragmentation. There is a narrative treatment without many digressions and backtracking to complicate the development of the event. It stands out for a careful work with the actresses and sparing dialogue, giving a special place to the pauses; to give viewers the possibility of meditation to keep an active attitude for what they see on the screen. 
Director K. Dhamo has a special merit in Albanian cinematography as an artist, teacher, critic, and artistic leader of Kinostudio for many years. He has given a visible help in the preparation of a considerable number of frames, teacher of a whole generation of filmmakers, organizer of many postgraduate courses and founder of the Creative Studio near Kinostudio Shqiperia e Re, from where many cinematography frames were prepared. as a director, operator, screenwriter. 
Being for a long period the Artistic Director of Kinostudio, he managed with professional maturity the Artistic Council, Bureau and later the script editor, creative discussions in Kinostudio, Albanian Film Festivals, etc. During his activity, he has been more critical by publishing several problematic and research articles on the progress of documentary film, directing, film dramaturgy and general issues of cinematography. He is also the co-author of several feature film scripts. This creativity of his has been honored with the Republic Award, several second awards at Albanian Film Festivals as well as the "A. Moses" for the film "Invisible World" (1987); He was also awarded the high title "People's Artist". In April of 2000 appointed as president of the 11th Artistic, Documentary and Cartoon Film Festival, being honored with the Cimi e career.
