A film always has two stories. What’s on the screen and what’s beyond that belongs to the working group that made it happen. The times when a film is shot are the most beautiful in the life of actors and directors, despite the challenges and difficulties to realize characters or build events.
Some black and white photographs carefully preserved by set designer Fatbardh Marku show us interesting moments from one of the most talked about films in Albanian cinema “Bullets to Emperor”.
Produced by TVSH, this film tells the story of a young man from the south of Albania who leaves for the capital for a better life. During that time, the emperor of Italy was expected to arrive in Tirana, and the country was buzzing with the sounds of military vehicles but also with exciting preparations. Meanwhile, his brother was also arrested and executed, as he participated in the anti-fascist movement. Hate prompted him to make a decision to shoot at the emperor. Dressed in a black coat, hat and a cigarette in his hand talking, the photo below shows the late greatest actor Sandër Prosi.
He should be on the main boulevard of the city of Saranda. The photo was taken in 1979. In another photo, the young protagonist actor in this film, Kastriot Caushin (Vasil Laçi) is preparing to get ready for the shooting.
irector Pali Kuke appears next to the camera in some photos. In another photo, Sandër Prosi appears smiling next to Pali Kuke with a cigarette that he does not remove from his lips. Actors Vangjush Furrxhi, Liza Laska, Robert Ndrenika, Lec Shllaku, Ylli Demneri, Renis Hyka, Marko Bitrako, Agim Qirjazi, Jorgaq Tushe, Spiro Strati, Aleksandër Pogace, Rezarta Vincani have played other roles in this film.
