PROFILE OF A FEATURED ARTIST | VELI RADA (1942 – 2014)

Veli Rada February 28, 1942 – December 27, 2014. Actor of the comedy genre and journalist and sports radio host. He holds the title "Great Master". He attends lessons at the "Skënderbej" school and in July 1963, he is promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He created connections with the theater through the amateur artistic movement. Kujtim Spahivogli then staged two shows with the artistic group of the People's Army. The first play was "The Fisherman's Family", where V. Rada plays the role of Petrit. He studied in the class of future director Gëzim Kame. He completed his studies at the High Institute of Arts 1972-1975, in the department of acting. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, he became a member of the Estrade of Tirana in 1975, in which he worked for about 35 years, until 1997. Throughout his artistic life, he performed hundreds of different roles, even covering the role of director or director in various shows. So maybe it was better for Veliu that he joined Estrada of Tirana because there he found a wonderful collective. Maybe the nostalgia for the theater remained, but Estrada is the one who "married" and will continue to be married until the end. He said: "I don't understand how the retirement age of the artist can be determined. The artist should come out when he has no more physical and mental strength" – this is how he will express himself. He will play in hundreds of skits and after `90 in several telecomedies. He had character roles first. In addition to the variety shows, in the show where he performed, they have left their mark on him: "Three Grooms" by Dionis Buban, directed by Pirro Mani, performed in 1985. He was entrusted with the role of a captain, who was educated in Germany, and was "Germanized" … "Gazi i Bilbili", directed by Gjergj Vlashi, was also a good show. It has not been difficult for him, despite the fact that it has been an untrodden path. Radio Tirana had wonderful voices like Anton Mazreku, for example who was a poet on the air, and where Ismet Bellova continued his path with dignity. The first broadcast of Veli Rade belongs to a semi-final match of the Cup of the Republic in Elbasan, Labinoti of Elbasan with Besa e Kavaja, where the match went to overtime, even with penalties and where Besa's team won. There was a lot of drama and emotions in it, the next day the newspapers wrote: "A beautiful voice is added to the broadcast of Radio Tirana". In the period 1995-1997, he was involved with the army's artistic group, which he created himself. For two years he worked as a sports commentator on television. He returned to Estrada again until 2003. In 2009 he started working at the Cultural and Artistic Center of the Army, with Zerina Kuken. Although retired, he has not separated from football. February 28, 2013. The President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani awarded Mr. Veli Rada the "Grand Master" Order. In the morning of December 27, 2014, after a serious illness, the famous comedian and commentator Veli Rada changed his life.
